(User Research and Interaction Design) — Team Charter & Project Plan
Before choosing the application we would work on during the project, we started with a basic planning of what we would like to achieve, it was a good way of visualizing not just the work ahead of us, but to have a clear division of the roles and responsibilities within our team.
We started with an illustrative team charter canvas, that was a bit difficult to fill in as we it was the first time we were working together
After it, each of us selected an APP to dive in and start the analysis regarding their UX.
I did it for Ryanair, and we had also GymShark, TFI and NFL. We went ahead with GymShark for the following reasons:
- To complete the whole user journey with Ryanair app, we would need to purchase a ticket;
- TFI and Dublin bus were too popular, and many other students had already selected and worked on redesigns for them;
- For NFL the public was too restricted, and we could face challenges for the research and testing phase.
The GymShark, besides a huge backlog of improvement we had to work on, we would be able to conduct more research as the public was wider.
We all conducted a heuristic analysis and also a competitor research before starting the User Research step.
After selecting the app, we together prepared the project plan, that helped us to achieve a common view on our goals, challenges, deliverables and constraints.
In terms of timeline, that was the journey our team followed:
With the APP selected, and the team tasks organized, we moved on to our next phase, the Research.
